In the Fine Arts, students cultivate the intellectual habits by which they may appreciate works of art and learn the skills necessary to create them. Such works, as human participations in the harmony and order of divine creation, offer praise and glory to Almighty God. Saint Agnes School, focusing on the great tradition of Catholic literature, art, music, and architecture, offers courses in studio arts, performing arts, and history. (The Educational Philosophy of Saint Agnes School, 2016, p. 4).
From preschool through 12th grade, our students learn to appreciate the arts through participating in a range of opportunities:
Through large ensemble, chamber ensembles, and solo study, our students are exposed to quality literature that encourages refined technique and ensemble development. The comprehensive curriculum includes listening, analyzing, composing, improvising, and performing, and fosters an appreciation of beauty through understanding music.
